Medical Supervision

Starting exercise with a heart condition can be scary!
HeartFit For Life helps you reach your health and fitness goals safely and effectively.

Home 9 Our Program 9 Medical Supervision

Our medically-supervised program has a proven track record and is recommended by many cardiologists from leading institutions, such as Stanford and Sutter Health.

Ongoing medical supervision helps you reach your fullest potential in a safe but challenging way. Medical issues are often identified early by our staff, providing early intervention and often avoiding re-hospitalization. Each fitness class is supervised by trained cardiac rehabilitation registered nurses (RNs) who are certified in advanced cardiac life support.

I didn’t realize when I finally joined HeartFit For Life what a change it would mean to me. It’s hard to put into words my appreciation for your follow-through with me – your medical knowledge and understanding. Thank you so much – you do make a difference in my life.

Monitoring before, during, and after your exercise

Your care nurse will guide you through the process of knowing how much exercise is right for you, in addition to assessing your vital signs (i.e. pulse, blood pressure, glucose, oxygen saturation) throughout the session. You are encouraged to use a mobile application called Chanl Care that provides a connection between you and your care team providing an added layer of support for education, communication, and medical surveillance.

Education and Guidance

Both onsite and online, you learn self assessment skills to exercise to your potential. RNs will educate you on what reportable symptoms are and how to self monitor. Guidance on exercise progression helps you develop the foundation needed to optimize heart function during exercise.
